Considering Everyone

Written by  Katie Hultgren

When you plan a trip for a client, are you considering all travelers in the group?  It is often easiest to take direction from the “group leader” or the person who has reached out to you for assistance in planning the trip. Their voice is the one you actually hear. In planning the trip, you may gather all the pertinent and necessary information about each passenger, but are you also considering their individual wishes for their vacation?

To ensure all parties have the best trip ever, consider the varying interests of each traveler. You might have a parent whose main goal is racing through theme parks with the kids in tow, riding rides, eating on the go, and seeing everything there is to see. The other parent might want to relax with a round of golf, and a few romantic evenings.  Even the kids might enjoy a peaceful afternoon swimming at the hotel pool, or checking out the activities at a kid’s club.
There is one sure way to make sure that you provide the best vacation possible for all travelers. Ask them. When speaking to your point of contact, inquire if they have had a conversation with their traveling companions, and what is on each traveler’s personal “must-do” list.  Consider having an in-person meeting with the group to provide them the opportunity to express their thoughts and vision of the trip to you. This will help you to make sure that everyone will be happy with their vacation, and your services.
