It’s been a number of years since I last visited the magical Kingdom of Jordan, and since that time there has been much exciting tourism news coming out of the country. The good news includes many hotel openings to talk about, as well as tourism revenue and arrival numbers that continue
to increase.

Arrivals from the United States to Jordan increased between Jan-April 2017 by 10% over 2016 during the same period, and Canada is up 27.8%. In February 2017, tourism revenues stood at $284.3 million, up by 21.8%, when compared to $233.4 million in February 2016, according to data by the Central Bank of Jordan. The number of group visitors to the Kingdom in the first two months of 2017 rose by 84% compared to the same period last year.
In addition to these encouraging tourism numbers, there are a number of exciting new hotel openings to report. The newest attraction in the country is the Jordan Trail (, a long distance hiking trail in Jordan connecting the length of Jordan from Um Qais in the north to Aqaba in the south.
